The storefront is painted white with two floors and the second floor is a dance floor. There is a bar, restrooms and a couple of tables. The concept of the lost sock was created when Jon Bitzer put his son in a wool socks and ties dryer to test the durability. When he washed his pants, he could not get the colors out of them so he decided to create the lost sock laundry table for those who wanted a place to wash their socks. His design combines the colors with a felt on the bottom so they do not fade away as they might with a normal iron on table top. The only drawback to this product is the price. Jon Bitzer states that it is difficult to obtain the lost sock laundromat in the area and it may take years before it can be built.
I was able to find a small shop-lodge type of place on the north side of Daytona Beach, Florida that did sell the lost sock laundromat. It is very cute and does have the ability to hold up under the heat of the sun. I would imagine that it could hold up to more than four hundred pairs of socks without fading or any loss of color from washing. It has a nice, wide table top on it with folding chairs and a counter top on the front so the owner can work in a smaller space.
